Beautiful example of this historical issue that features Neal Adams' first-ever interior artwork on a Batman story! This was also the start of Adams moving Batman away from the campy late-60's television character and back to a darker and more interesting hero. A few months later, after Adams had done about 3 issues of Batman in Brave and the Bold, DC editor Julius Schwatz stopped Adams in the hallway and asked "Why are all these letters saying the only Batman at DC Comics is in Brave and the Bold?"

Low numbers on the CGC census with only 80 copies at 9.0 or higher.

Classic Adams cover featuring Batman and Deadman - two of his top characters. Fantastic Bob Haney story.
