BEST EXISTING COPY!! Even with all of the classic covers in the Amazing Spider-Man run, #39 still stands out. The imagery of Spider-man unmasked and at the mercy of the Green Goblin is contrasted beautifully against the blue/purple sky. This issue also represents John Romita's first work on the title and fans knew instantly there was a seamless handing off from one master to another as Ditko exited the title for good. How tough is this in grade? There are just 7 other 9.8's on the census! The last one held at auction sold for a record price of $31,200 last year (April, 2020). We think this copy is the nicest one on the planet and it has ridiculous colors, straight cover alignment and MILK WHITE PAGES!
