Some of the best and most interesting work Steve Ditko did in the 60’s was with Warren publishing. With artists like Frank Frazetta and the brilliant Wally Wood at his side he produced some of his best work to date. During this time at Warren Publishing Steve Ditko’s art was very different from what we would have normally seen; his pencils were ink-washed – this added a depth and boldness not normally seen in his other, more known, books. Here a mysterious sword is stolen by a strange and vicious demon...and all by DITKO in this classic tale.... The Demon Sword! From EERIE # 8 here is the splash page to the cover story of the issue. The twice-up art is on a hard Bainbridge board and measures 15" x 22". The Cousin Eerie image is a stat although his eyes have original art on them. This is one of the best examples of Ditko's work during his peak period.
