Pedigree Comics' Special DC Auction Ends Tonight, Thursday, January 31st at 8:00 PM EST

Pedigree Comics’ Incredible High Grade Special DC Auction ends tonight, Thursday, January 31st beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST with the second half of lots of the auction (Detective Comics #375 9.4 through X-Men 122 9.8).

There is no Buyers Premium on any of the lots and almost (over 90%) every listing has no reserve. Every book is CGC graded and the minimum bid is only $100 for this Grand Auction. You can view and bid on all 979 high grade comics in the Auction Listing right now. Just go to the Pedigree Comics website and click on the Auction banner.

This is easily the very best auction ever held for high grade, investment quality Dc comic books! There are many incredible groups of books and runs as well as individual highest certified comics from a myriad of DC titles in the auction. Many of the books are in CGC certified 9.8 (NM/M) condition and are the highest graded copies. A bunch are also the single highest graded. Many of the books were just recently graded by the CGC and many come from different consignments. Here are the highlights of the auction:

*#1 ACTION COMICS (COMPLETE) CGC REGISTRY SET FROM THE ZABRA COLLECTION:
This is the absolute highlight of the auction! Pedigree Comics' CEO and President, Doug Schmell, is very proud to present this incredible collection of high grade Action Comics from the #1 CGC Registry Set from the Zabra Collection - Primary Set. This collection consists of over 240 issues of Action Comics, almost all in ultra high grade (9.4 and higher) and many in 9.6 and 9.8. Many of the books are the highest certified or single highest certified copy to date. Most of the issues between #300 and #400 are 9.6 and higher and almost every issue between #400 and #500 are in 9.8!! This is the absolute greatest collection of rare and hard to find Gold, silver and Bronze Age Action Comics ever offered for sale and there are many hard to find pedigrees included in the run.

In the collector's own words: "This set is a meticulous collection of Action Comics and my intention is to be able to complete collecting the entire Action Comics series in the highest grade possible during my lifetime. My goal is to be able to include the rarest of the rare Action Comics issues into my collection. My most favorite RARE issues include Actions # 3, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 20, 49, 53, 59, 60, 61, 105, 123, 126, 128, 130,131, 136, 137, 138, 141, 142, 147, 153, 155, 157, 163, 166, 167, 168, 169, 170, 173, 176, 188, 200, 201. The books listed above are very scarce and its hard to find them. If you are lucky enough to come across these issues then they will cost high premium prices in higher grades. My most favorite issues are Action Comics #10 and 13. With Action Comics #13 being my MOST favorite (and ironically it is the toughest issue among the series to obtain). Almost nobody has this issue and the cover is just phenomenal. Action Comics #13 is rarer than even an Action #1. I am on a mission to collect the ACTION13 SET which will include #13, 113, 213, 313, 413, 513, 613, 713 and 813. Action Comics # 13 featured the First appearance of the Ultra-Humanite and also had a centerfold that featured a full page ad for Superman #1. Its an absolute treat for the eyes to open up an original unrestored Action Comics #13 and view the CENTERFOLD.

"My sub-goal is to also complete the entire World War 2 collection of Action Comics including specifically the NAZI covers. Action # 59 is my favorite along with the super hard to find Action #58. The goal is to include the following issues in the WAR COLLECTION, #10, 17, 19, 21, 31, 35, 37, 39, 40, 43, 44, 48,52, 53, 54, 55, 58, 59, 60, 62, 63, 66, 76, and 86. World War II was greeted by comic books with a display of public patriotism and a sigh of private relief. Unquestioned patriotism was the order of the day and while Superman stories rarely showed the Man of Steel flexing his muscles directly against the Nazi scourge, Action covers were another matter entirely. Beginning as early as Action Comics #35(NAZI pumping bullets into Supermans chest and bullets bouncing off) in April 1941, Superman frequently bared his knuckles against the Axis, bending tank turrets in his bare hands (Action Comics #44), routing saboteurs (Action Comics #37), twisting U-boat periscopes like pretzels (Action Comics #54), Mid-air combat with a FULL size NAZI (Action Comics #43), descending upon NAZI soldiers (Action Comics #39), taking fire from three fire shooting NAZI soldiers (Action Comics #53, ripping apart a large NAZI tank (Action Comics #59) and making one-man aerial assualts against the bombers and tail gunners of the Japanese (Actions # 48 and 63). At the same time, GIs knew that the Metropolis Marvel was watching out for them, protecting them from enemy fire (Actions #62 and 66), providing construction assistance (Action Comics #55), ferrying in Red Cross supplies (Action Comics #60-A rare book to find), supervising some atomic testing (Action Comics #101) and even hawking war bonds and stamps (Action Comics #58-Another rare and controversial cover namely the Slap a Jap version.). Only once in the long history of the title did Superman appear alongside his Action costars on the cover and even then patriotism was the keynote. Action Comics #52 (another favorite cover) showcases not only the Man of Steel, but the Americommando, the Vigilante, Zatara, and Congo Bill, all marching in a tight V-formation towards the reader, presumably on their way to kick some Axis tail.

"My collection does include many Pedigrees namely, Ohio, Edgar Church/ Mile High, Cosmic Aeroplane, The Palo Alto Collection, Twin Cities, Boston, Winnipeg, Don Rosa, Golden State, Monterey Collection, David Toth Collection, Mound City Collection, Brian Bolland Collection, Rocky Mountain, Savannah Collection, Circle 8, D Copy, Northland Pedigree, Cleveland Collection, Crowley Copy, Fairborn-Ohio Copy, The Seattle Drugstore Collection, Toronto Collection, Bethlehem Pedigree, Western Penn Pedigree, Canning Pedigree, Suscha News Pedigree, Oakland Pedigree, Wytheville Pedigree, Brad Squared Collection and Oregon Collection. My books from #300-904 are mostly in grades 9.6-9.8 with a few 9.9s and one 10.0. This set also includes a few signature series books which are not easy to assimilate. At this time I am concentrating my collecting efforts across all Action Comics sets simultaneously and gradually building up all my sets across the board. The toughest is to build up the #100-200 set as its almost impossible to find some issues in this set. For example Action # 105,123, 128,141, 143, 156 and 169 almost never come up for sale and the other issues that I have listed above are also very hard to find in a collectable grade. SUPERMAN is a unique heroic icon, without doubt the most powerful and wonderous myth American pop culture has yet produced. For those of us who treasure truth and justice and who have always fought battles for freedom, justice and truth-Superman lives within all of you and you are ALL Supermen (With special tribute to World War 2 veterans across the globe)".

*BRAND NEW HIGH GRADE SILVER AGE DC'S FROM THE BOGOTA COLLECTION:
The second major highlight of the auction is the unbelievable group of over 150 recently CGC certified Silver Age DC's from the original owner Bogota Collection out of Bogota, New Jersey, founded by Pedigree Comics' CEO and President, Doug Schmell, in 2010. These brand new DC books are all from late 1964 to late 1969 and are GORGEOUS! The initial books from the collection, including Silver Age Marvels and the first Amazing Spider-Man #40 to grade 9.8, were sold by Pedigree Comics over the past 8 years, and Mr. Schmell purchased the remaining high grade DC's a few months ago. These books are stunning and are obviously unread as there are no handling defects or wear on any of the books. The only "defects" are very minor stacking ones, keeping some of the books from 9.8 or 9.6. EVERY book has of-white to white or white pages and every book has perfect centering and registration, a testament to the discerning eye of the original owner and his incredible methods of preserving these gems.

If you have high grade CGC or CBCS certified comic books to sell or consign, do yourself a favor and contact Mr. Schmell. Please go to the site (www.PedigreeComics.com) and read the following for all consignment information or contact him directly at (561) 422-1120 or (561) 596-911 or by email at DougSchmell@pedigreecomics.com.

We are now accepting consignments for our March/April, 2019 Grand Auction. The sooner you consign your books the more exposure they will receive. We aggressively promote and advertise each auction and send periodic newsletters to all of our over 24,000 customers announcing the auction items. We also offer generous cash advances for quality consignments so check the site for consignment instructions and get your books in now.

Mr. Schmell invites you to take advantage of Pedigree’s many outstanding services. Consignors maximize their profits selling in the Grand Auction, more so than on any other auction site or auction house. We do not charge a buyers’ premium, an amount that most bidders take into consideration when bidding in other sites (the bidders simply deduct the buyers’ premium amount, usually 20% of the winning price, from their final bid, meaning less $$ to the consignor and more to the auction site). The higher the value of your book(s) that sell in a Grand Auction, the more $$ you take home under Pedigree Comics’ Climbing Scale as follows:

A Climbing Scale is in effect for consigned comics with a winning bid as follows:
10% Commission for any consigned item that sells up to $10,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $90% of the final bid price);
9% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $10,000 and up to $25,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $91% of the final bid price);
8% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $25,000 and up to $50,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $92% of the final bid price);
6% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $50,000 and up to $100,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $94% of the final bid price);
5% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $100,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $95% of the final bid price).

We consistently set new sales records for Golden Age, Silver Age and Bronze Age comic books in each of our bi-monthly auctions and we do not saturate the market with the same material each month. Grand Auctions are unique and exciting, with brand new CGC and CBCS certified and diversified, highest quality material in each event. Why take home less $$ and settle for less by consigning with someone else?

There are three easy ways to consign your books to our upcoming April/March Grand Auction. The only criteria is that the books must be CGC or CBCS graded and worth no less than $100.00. If you have high grade raw books that you want to have certified and sold in the October auction or a future Grand Auction, you can utilize our Raw To Riches Consignment Service, in which we will have your books certified under our account and will lay out all the CGC or CBCS grading fees in advance for you (refer to the website and our Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide advertisement for all the details of the Raw to Riches Consignment Service). Here is how to consign:

1. Ship your books to our offices in Wellington, Florida. We will inventory, scan and upload each book into the Grand Auction listing. The items will be listed under your personal account and you will receive email notification at the conclusion of the auction with a list of every consigned book that sold along with the winning bid made.

2. Email the scans of the books you wish to consign directly to us at DougSchmell@pedigreecomics.com. We will format and upload each scan onto our server and then put each book into the Grand Auction listing. Please use a .jpeg format with the resolution set at 72 and the pixel width at no more than 1200 for optimal clarity. If you do not have a scanner you can use a digital camera.

3. You can upload your own scans, item information, book descriptions and reserve amounts, if any, by utilizing our Automated Consignment System. Just register onto the site (www.PedigreeComics.com) and login, click the “Customer Page” tab under “Your Account” and then click “Consignments” (under the “Auctions” heading). You will then be able to enter the Pedigree Comics Consignment Management System and list your own CGC and CBCS certified books. We will receive an email once you have uploaded the scan and book information for each individual item into the system and we will then review the information imparted for accuracy. The item(s) will then be added to the Grand Auction listing to be bid on. You will be amazed how simple it is to use the Automated Consignment System.

If you have any questions or comments about the consignment process, any of the auction lots or about the Special DC Grand Auction in general, please contact Mr. Schmell at (561) 422-1120 (office) or (561) 596-9111 (cell) or at DougSchmell@pedigreecomics.com.
