Description
Here it is, one of the most notoriously difficult silver age appearances of the Silver Surfer to locate in high grade. Historically the Surfer's second and third appearances (in Fantastic Four 49 & 50) have always been regarded as the breakers for high grade collectors. But after 22 years of CGC existence only 11 copies of this book have ever made it to the top spot of 9.8. Tales to Astonish was always regarded as a 'second tier' title in Marvels line of books back in the day, so this book was never collected to the same degree as the other main titles. This is the second NM/M we've ever had or seen. The first one (from Doug's personal collection), back in July, 2012, went for $13,145. That was 9 years ago.
