From the very same month that brought you Amazing Fantasy No. 15 (August, 1962), here is the origin and first appearance of the God of Thunder, the Mighty Thor. This is a gorgeous, flat and fresh-looking 9.4 and it comes from the incredible Canadian Original Owner Collection that surfaced in 2002, a collection that never earned pedigree status since the original owner collected only one title: Journey Into Mystery!! The Canadian run is by far the nicest one of all JIM "pedigrees", even out-certifying the vaunted Pacific Coast Collection of JIMs. This is indeed a very scarce book in ultra high grade, and is one of only three in Near Mint ( trailing only the White Mountain copy, which certified at 9.6). It features SNOW WHITE pages, a ridiculously flawless spine (just take a look!), excellent cover gloss and very minimal handling wear. The corners are pretty sharp, which is uncommon on this 44 year old comic book. This is the second finest known example of JIM #83 and the absolute nicest copy ever offered for sale and since the White Mountain isn't going anywhere too soon, it most likely will always be. You don't get many chances to own this book, so if you are a Thor freak, this one's for you!
